8 Reasons to Join Today:
1.) Learn in classes taught by Katie
Enjoy two classes taught by Katie, the dyer at Yarn Love. We’re allowing the Yarn Love Campers to pick the topics: Dyeing with the Dyer, Color Theory for Knitters, Perfect Pairings: finding the right pattern for your yarn, or How to Knit with Hand Dyed Yarns.
2.) Private yarn shopping with Audrey & SmittenYarns.com
Have you ever wanted to have a yarn shop all to yourself? Make your fantasies come true! Audrey, owner of SmittenYarns.com will be bringing her shop to the Yarn Love house for the weekend. Take your pick of the most gorgeous hand-dyed yarn & fibers for an entire weekend!
3.) Relax in our private, luxurious yarn house for the weekend
We’ve rented a beautifully appointed house for the weekend. That gives you lots of room to spread out and relax. In keeping with our camp theme, pricing is based to sharing a bedroom with one other person. Mix of double beds and air mattresses based on camper’s preference for shared or separate beds.
4.) Nightly Slumber parties: movies, knitting, drinks!
Girly movies, a lovely drink and your current project – it’s time to have some fun!
5.) Fantastic eats: homemade and from local eateries.
Nearly all your meals, snacks and beverages are included in the price. You can expect a home cooked meal upon arrival Friday night, continental breakfasts, along with a selection of meals from my favorite eateries. We’ll have snacks and beverages stocked, too.
Sunday dinner is the only meal not included in the price. We’ll be heading out for a fun “Date Night” at a nice restaurant and each camper is responsible for this meal.
Do you have special food needs? Let us know after you book, and we’ll do our best to make sure our food and snacks meet your needs. Katie usually eats a gluten free/paleo/ketogenic diet, so don’t be afraid; we can handle most food requests.
6.) Explore one of the best farmer’s markets in America.
Des Moines has one of the best farmer’s markets in the US. Enjoy amazing street food, freshly roasted coffee, pastries and more Saturday morning.
7.) Shop for Yarn Love at the local yarn shop.
Go shopping at Stitch – a fabulous yarn and sewing shop which stocks Yarn Love and other goodies!
8.) A Yarn Love yarn + fiber tasting
A buffet of Yarn Love at your fingertips – this is the perfect chance to play with many of our beautiful yarns.
Are you a spinner? Let us know! We’ll be doing an optional spin-in and fiber tasting one evening. You’ll get a bag of Yarn Love fiber goodies, and the chance to spin on both Katie and Audrey’s spinning wheels. You are also most welcomed to bring your favorite wheel. $20 additional fee.
(Hugs are optional, but Katie loves to give them!)
